Fueling for Performance
Athletes of all ages need the best fuel for energy production and performance but more importantly they need cellular protection from oxidative stress. In fact as Dr. David Phillips said in his Nutrition for Peak Performance talk, serious athletes need 16-20 servings of fruits and veggies daily. Children involved in sports also need more plant nutrition. Topics addressed include: What is healthy eating? What are healthy meals before games and practices and healthy snacks and drinks? How about smoothies and supplements? Helpful handouts available.
